My name is Nancy Parcels, I live in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. Not only am I a doula, but I am also a Midwife student through the Midwife To Be Program (www.midwifetobe.com). Through my education as a midwife I have learned to support, educate and empower moms and their families in their amazing passage to becoming parents. I believe that babies and births are everyday miracles to be treated with admiration and respect. I feel that it is a blessing to be able to accompany women to their births. Women deserve to feel empowered, informed, and supported through their pregnancies and births so that they are better able to embrace, appreciate, and love their new role as a mother. I am passionate about helping others achieve their ideal births, regardless of location, method used, or provider chosen. I was trained as a Doula through Dar la Luz (www.smartpregnanct.net) by Susan Smart. I am also Adult and Infant CPR and First Aid certified. DEDICATION.LOVE.ADVOCACY These three words describe what I am all about as a doula. I am dedicated to give you the best birth you can have. I show love and compassion, no matter what your needs and wants are. I am your advocate for your health, your baby's health, your wants and desires. My role as your doula will be to help you move through labor in harmony with your body, recognizing and acting on your own body's singals, so that labor can progress more comfortably and efficiently. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Science (minor in communication) from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, FL. After working for some time in a hospital, I determined that there was a better route for me to serve women. I began my studies as a midwife in November 2010. Between being a doula, going to school to become a midwife, I do find some free time. I enjoy playing with my son, stepdaughter and my dog, I enjoy hiking and camping with my husband, son and stepdaughter, music, crafts and reading. |
